Christmas Journey

Tonight we are heading out to southern Illinois and will be back Christmas Eve. We are hoping that Parker will sleep most of the way tonight, as it is a 7 hour drive. We will be having Christmas with his mom's family on saturday night and with his dad on sunday. It will be a busy quick trip, but will be nice to see everyone and most haven't seen Parker yet. It's hard to believe that he is almost a year old too. Hold on! I have to tell you something real quick before I gotta go, but he broke my heart for the first time this morning. I dropped him off at daycare and he always cries that is until today. I was holding him and he pushed me to let him down, so I did and he took off to play with the kids and hide under the slide. Well it was time to say goodbye so I did and he waved and said BYE-BYE and that was IT..... no crying for MAMA...

Prayer Request

I don't do this often, but I have some unspoken prayer requests. God knows what they are but it also helps to have some support too.

Old

Here are some old pic that I found that I wanted to share.

First time having spaghetti. One of his favorites.

Boy, does he look chubby in this pic

First time having corn on the cob

At uncle jon's cider mill. His first time in the back pack and loved it. He even took a long nap in it. I was ready for a nap too after carrying him that long.

Quiet time

He does love his books. He will stand at this basket and empty every single book out then sit on the floor and read them. Page by page. The other night Brian and I were sitting on the couch and he sat over at this basket and read (in his language) 5 books. It was so funny, we didn't want to laugh too hard because he was being so good and concentrating at turning each page. I didn't want to get up and get the camera because he would have stopped, so I caught him reading the next day.

Keeping occupied

Parker is now at the age of discovery. While I'm cooking in the kitchen he likes to be in there with me, so I let me play with whatever is safe that he finds. Well this day it was napkins and his water bottles. And then after I had that cleaned up he moved to the spices. Needless to say it was a mess to pick up from them being shredded to pieces, but he did have fun and he wasn't getting into something he couldn't have.

1st Christmas

We had the Rood Christmas this last weekend at mom and dad's. Everyone made it on Saturday night to play games, snack and spend time together. Kim and Christopher couldn's make it as they were on military duty and had drill the whole weekend. We wished that they could have made it, but when duty calls we can't argue. Sunday we had stockings and presents alot later then the girls wanted of course. But we did bribe them that they had to take their naps first. It did work though. We had a great time with everyone. Now getting ready for round 2 this weekend with the Schwab Christmas at the farm. Then round 3 with the Johnson (Brian's fam) Christmas the following weekend. Round 4 in Illinois with his dad. Round 5 at home on Christmas Day. And last but not least Round 6 at mom and dad's the last weekend. Wow!!!

Mess

Ok so you know those hand molding kits that you should do when they are younger, well I found one that I had bought and thought that I would do it now. Well it didn't turn out the right way. Let me tell you don't try and do it when they are older because it is fun to them. Needless to say it got thrown away because it was a mess by the time he destroyed it.
